Opportunity Zones
Jay has been named one of the country’s top 25 attorneys for Opportunity Zones two years in a row by Opportunity Zone Expo Magazine. He has helped form more than 50 successful Qualified Opportunity Funds, ranging in size from small private transactions to $500 million projects. He has been at the leading edge of Opportunity Zone tax incentives since they were created as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. Opportunity Zones have the potential to bring investment and economic progress to distressed areas of the country while benefiting individual investors, developers, fund sponsors, and others. In the summer of 2021, Jay has taught, for the third time, the only US law school course on Opportunity Zones at Boston University. More information is available here.
